What is the Forbes VPPA Settlement about?

Forbes Media agreed to a proposed $7.5 million settlement resolving claims it shared subscribers’ video-viewing data with Facebook via the tracking pixel, allegedly violating the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA). U.S. Forbes online or mobile accountholders and/or newsletter subscribers who had a Facebook account and watched a video on forbes.com during the class period can claim a cash payment up to $15 (pro rata). Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
