What is the Forbes website tracking privacy settlement about?
The lawsuit alleges that Forbes collected IP addresses or other identifiers through website trackers without consent and shared them with third parties. Forbes denies wrongdoing. The official settlement site identifies the case as Berman, et al. v. Forbes Media LLC. The court still must decide whether to grant final approval.
Payout lists this specific website-tracker case as settlement ID 128. As of October 7, 2026, 232 Payout accounts had this settlement recorded in their claim history. These are app-tracked records, not verified filings or payments. Some app paths record a claim when the external browser opens. Counts cover synced accounts, can change, and do not measure approvals or unique people.
This California tracker case is separate from the Forbes VPPA settlement for certain Facebook users and Forbes video viewers, whose claim deadline was November 4, 2025. Match the case name on your notice to the administrator site before using a form. Payout is a settlement-discovery app, not a law firm. Filing directly with the administrator is free. Payout does not guarantee eligibility, approval, or payment amounts.

Who qualifies to file a claim?
- You were a California resident who accessed a website owned or controlled by Forbes from December 20, 2023 through June 11, 2026.
- Your IP address or other unique identifiers were shared with third parties through trackers on Forbes websites.
- Check the official FAQ exclusions, including Forbes-related parties, specified family members, class counsel employees, the assigned judicial officer and family, and people who validly opted out.
- The paper form requires a signed statement that you accessed Forbes.com while in California during the class period. It can be audited or reviewed; visiting a website alone does not guarantee an approved claim.
How to file a claim
- 1Open the official MediaSiteTrackerSettlement.com claim page and confirm the case name is Berman, et al. v. Forbes Media LLC.
- 2If you received a Class Member ID, use the ID option to access the online form. The site permits only one claim per Class Member ID.
- 3If you do not have an ID, use the no-ID option. The administrator directs that route to a downloadable paper claim form and mailing instructions.
- 4Complete the requested contact information and payment selection. Sign the paper form truthfully; the administrator can reject false, incomplete, or late claims.
- 5Submit an online claim by November 9, 2026, or mail the paper form postmarked by that date to Berman, et al. v. Forbes Media LLC, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391.
- 6Keep a copy of the form and submission or mailing record. Contact the administrator if your contact information changes.
