Home Depot Price Adjustment & Price Match Policy (2026)

Home Depot offers price adjustments within 30 days of purchase — matching both its own lower prices and prices at qualifying competitors, including local stores and Amazon (sold by Amazon directly). As of February 10, 2026, Home Depot removed the additional 10% discount over the matched price, making it a straight price match only.

30 days after purchase

Price match

Yes — matches local competitors + select national retailers (Lowe's, Walmart, Amazon sold by Amazon); excludes Costco and Sam's Club

What is a price adjustment?

A price adjustment means that if an item you already bought drops in price — either at Home Depot itself or at a qualifying competitor — within a set window after your purchase, the retailer refunds you the difference. Home Depot's Low Price Guarantee covers both its own price drops and competitor prices across a 30-day window.

As of February 10, 2026, Home Depot changed its policy: it no longer offers the additional 10% discount over the competitor's lower price (the 'meet and beat' feature). Today, Home Depot offers a straight price match — refunding the difference between what you paid and the lower price. If you spot a lower price at Lowe's, Walmart, or Amazon (fulfilled by Amazon directly) within 30 days of your purchase, you can request the match at any Home Depot Customer Service desk or online.

How to request a price adjustment at Home Depot

  1. 1Confirm your purchase is within 30 days and that the identical item is currently available at a lower price — either at Home Depot itself or at a qualifying competitor (Lowe's, Walmart, or Amazon fulfilled by Amazon).
  2. 2Locate your original receipt (in-store purchase) or Home Depot.com order confirmation (online purchase).
  3. 3Find the current lower price: for competitor matches, have a live product page showing the item in stock at the competitor's price (not a screenshot — a verifiable live link).
  4. 4In-store: visit the Customer Service desk at any Home Depot location. Present your receipt and show the lower price on your phone or a printed ad. The team member will verify the price and apply the adjustment to your original payment method.
  5. 5Online: start a live chat at HomeDepot.com or call 1-800-466-3337 with your order number and a direct link to the qualifying lower price. The difference is refunded to your original payment method.
  6. 6Save your adjustment confirmation or updated receipt for your records.
