Gap offers one-time price adjustments within 14 days of purchase if the same item drops in price at Gap. Most orders placed with promotional or discount codes are not eligible — free shipping codes are the exception. Gap does not match competitor prices.

What is a price adjustment?

A price adjustment means the retailer refunds you the difference when an item you already bought drops in price within a set window — no return required. Gap's policy covers its own price drops only: if a Gap item goes on sale within 14 days of your purchase, you can request the difference back by contacting customer service.

Because Gap sells its own brand-exclusive clothing and accessories, competitor price matching doesn't apply — there are no identical Gap items at other retailers to compare. The key restrictions to know: orders placed with a promotional or discount code at checkout are generally excluded (a free shipping-only code is the exception), and 'Final Sale' items are never eligible. Online purchases must be adjusted through customer service channels — Gap store associates cannot process adjustments for online orders.
