What is the YouTube Privacy Settlement about?

Google LLC and YouTube LLC agreed to a $30,000,000 settlement resolving claims that they collected personal data from children under 13 who watched child-directed content on YouTube without parental consent. The claim deadline is January 21, 2026. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
