What is the Poultry Wages Settlement about?
Poultry companies including Perdue, Tyson, Pilgrim's Pride, Sanderson Farms, Wayne Farms and others agreed to pay $398.05 million to settle claims they conspired to suppress pay for poultry plant workers (Jien v. Perdue Farms). If you worked as a non-supervisory hourly employee at a poultry processing complex, plant, hatchery, or feed mill between January 1, 2000 and July 20, 2021, you can still submit a participation form: the participation period was extended to August 31, 2026. Payments are pro rata, based on how long you worked and what you earned; the first round of payments began going out on May 15, 2026. A copy of a photo ID or one paycheck or paystub from your employment is required. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
