What is the Oklahoma Earthquake Class Action about?

A total of $555,000 in class settlements has been reached alleging certain wastewater disposal wells contributed to Oklahoma earthquakes, including the 5.1 magnitude event near Prague on February 2, 2024. Owners (or those with a property interest) in Oklahoma real property that suffered earthquake damage between 2019-01-19 and the Effective Date may submit a documented claim for repair costs. Payouts come from the Net Settlement Fund and are distributed pro rata based on approved, evidenced damages. Zone A (nine counties nearest the alleged seismicity) receives 90% of the Net Fund; Zone B (rest of Oklahoma) receives 10%. Key dates: exclusion deadline 2025-09-27; objection deadline 2025-10-10; final approval hearing 2025-10-20; claims deadline 2026-01-25. Total settlement fund is $555,000.
