What is the Mitsubishi Airbag Settlement Claim about?
Mitsubishi Motors has agreed to an $8.5 million class action settlement to end claims that certain 2013-2017 Mitsubishi vehicles were equipped with defective ZF-TRW airbag control units that could disable airbags and other safety systems. Eligible current and former owners or lessees can receive up to $250 per vehicle, with any leftover funds redistributed and no money returned to Mitsubishi. Additional benefits include a new inspection program for affected vehicles. Claims must be filed by May 23 2026, and eligibility is verified by VIN; documentation may be requested if a Unique ID is not provided. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.

- Vehicle was owned or leased on Nov. 1 2024 (or previously owned/leased before that date)
- Submit a valid claim form with VIN verification by 2026-05-23
