What is the Flock Safety Lawsuit about?

Two proposed nationwide class actions filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (Schulte v. Flock Group Inc., filed August 25, 2026, and Whitson v. Flock Group Inc., filed September 2026) allege that Flock Safety's network of automated license plate reader cameras collects and retains location data on millions of drivers without adequate safeguards. The complaints allege the system has been misused by some law enforcement officers to track people for personal reasons and that inaccurate plate reads have led to innocent drivers being stopped. They assert claims including invasion of privacy, negligence, negligent design, failure to warn, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and propose a class of people in the United States whose license plate data was collected by Flock since January 1, 2024. As of September 29, 2026, the allegations remain unproven, the lawsuits are still pending, no class has been certified, and there is no settlement, official claim form, payout amount, or claim deadline. This is pending litigation, not an open settlement. Any future claim availability, eligibility, timing, or payment would depend on court rulings and official administrator instructions. Payout does not administer the litigation, determine eligibility, or guarantee that a settlement or payment will become available.
