What is the Broiler Chicken Settlement about?

Newly-added chicken producers (including Foster Farms, Perdue, Koch Foods and others) agreed to pay $22.5 million—on top of earlier settlements—to resolve accusations that they conspired to restrict supply and fix the price of fresh or frozen raw chicken. U.S. consumers in 26 'Repealer' states and D.C. who purchased qualifying chicken between 2012-01-01 and 2019-07-31 can file a claim for a pro-rata cash payment. Receipts aren't required at the time of filing, but claimants with proof of purchase will receive larger payouts. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
