What is the Flo Health privacy settlement about?
The Flo Health class action settlement (Frasco, et al. v. Flo Health Inc., et al.) resolves allegations that the Flo period-tracking app secretly shared users' menstrual, fertility, and pregnancy data with Facebook (Meta), Google, Flurry, and other third parties without users' knowledge or consent, in violation of California's Invasion of Privacy Act and federal privacy laws. Flo Health, Google, and Flurry each denied wrongdoing.
The three defendants agreed to a combined $59.5 million settlement fund — $48 million from Google, $8 million from Flo Health, and $3.5 million from Flurry. All U.S. residents who used the Flo app and entered menstruation or pregnancy data between November 1, 2016 and February 28, 2019 are included in the class. No documentation is required — claimants attest to their eligibility under penalty of perjury. California residents who provide proof of California residency during the eligibility period receive double the standard pro-rata payment.
