What is the Tampax Lawsuit about?

Procter & Gamble faces a growing wave of class actions alleging Tampax Pearl and Tampax Radiant tampons contain lead at levels reportedly up to 40 times the EPA's drinking-water action level. The lead case, Barton, et al. v. The Procter & Gamble Company, No. 3:24-cv-01332-GPC-SBC (S.D. Cal.), survived P&G's motion to dismiss in August 2025 and a U.S. magistrate judge has since ordered both sides to bring representatives with full settlement authority to a case management conference. Two parallel suits have since been filed: Sanchez v. P&G in Ohio and Otkina, et al. v. The Procter & Gamble Company, No. 1:26-cv-00773 (N.D. Ill.), filed January 28, 2026. This is still active litigation, not a settlement; no claim form or payout exists yet, and a claims process is unlikely before late 2026 at the earliest. This listing may involve a proposed or pending settlement. Final approval, claim availability, eligibility, timing, and any payment depend on court approval, administrator instructions, and final settlement terms. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.

Who qualifies for the Tampax Lawsuit?

You may qualify for the Tampax Lawsuit if you meet the eligibility requirements below. Eligibility is finally determined by the settlement administrator, not by Payout.

  • Lead case Barton v. P&G pending in S.D. Cal.; parallel cases filed in N.D. Illinois (Otkina, Jan 2026) and Ohio (Sanchez)
  • Settlement talks ordered by U.S. magistrate judge; no claims process exists yet
