What is the Sony PlayStation antitrust settlement about?
The Sony PlayStation settlement resolves claims that Sony Interactive Entertainment violated antitrust laws by restricting retail sales of game-specific vouchers. The lawsuit alleges that buyers paid more for certain digital games through the PlayStation Store. Sony denies violating the law, and the court has not ruled that Sony did anything wrong.
Sony agreed to pay $7,850,000. After approved fees, costs, service awards, and administration expenses, the remaining fund will be divided among eligible class members under the court-filed allocation plan. The court scheduled a final approval hearing for October 15, 2026.
