What is the Beef Price Fixing Settlement about?

Indirect purchasers who bought eligible fresh or frozen beef made from chuck, loin, rib, or round primal cuts between August 1, 2014 and December 31, 2019 in certain U.S. states/DC may claim a pro-rata cash payment from $87.5 million in settlements with Tyson and Cargill resolving allegations they conspired to raise beef prices. Excludes premium, specialty, and processed beef (e.g., USDA Prime, organic, grass-fed, ground, marinated). Documentation is not required at the time of claim submission, though the administrator may request it later. Claim deadline is June 30, 2026. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Who qualifies for the Beef Price Fixing Settlement?

You may qualify for the Beef Price Fixing Settlement if you meet the eligibility requirements below. Eligibility is finally determined by the settlement administrator, not by Payout.

  • Indirectly purchased eligible beef (fresh/frozen chuck, loin, rib, or round primal cuts) for personal consumption between 2014-08-01 and 2019-12-31
  • Purchases made in one of these jurisdictions: AZ, CA, DC, FL, IL, IA, KS, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, OR, RI, SD, TN, UT, WV, or WI
  • Excluded products: premium (USDA Prime, organic, 100% grass-fed, Wagyu/Kobe), specialty (NAE/antibiotic-free, kosher, halal, certified humane), or processed (ground, marinated, seasoned, flavored, breaded, cooked)
  • Submit claim online or by mail by 2026-06-30
  • You do not need to provide documentation with your claim initially; the administrator may request additional information later
