What is the Apple Siri Privacy Settlement about?
On July 17, 2026, the court granted preliminary approval to a proposed $250 million settlement in Landsheft v. Apple Inc., No. 5:25-cv-02668-NW (N.D. Cal.). The settlement would resolve allegations that Apple advertised Apple Intelligence and enhanced Siri features for eligible iPhone models before those Siri features were available. Verita Global has been appointed as settlement administrator, and the court ordered the notice program to begin no later than August 31, 2026. The claim deadline will be 90 days after the notice date. If the settlement receives final approval, eligible U.S. purchasers may receive an estimated $25 per eligible device, subject to adjustment up to $95 per device depending on valid claims and settlement costs. Apple denies wrongdoing. This proposed settlement is not final. Claim availability, eligibility, timing, and payment depend on the official administrator, final court approval, and settlement terms. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
