What is the Apple Siri Privacy Settlement about?

Apple has agreed to a proposed $250 million settlement in Landsheft v. Apple Inc., No. 5:25-cv-02668-NW (N.D. Cal.), resolving allegations that Apple falsely advertised Apple Intelligence and enhanced Siri features for eligible iPhone models before those Siri features were available. The settlement is not final yet and still requires court approval. If approved, eligible U.S. purchasers may receive an estimated $25 per eligible device, up to $95 per device depending on claims and settlement costs. Apple denies wrongdoing. This listing may involve a proposed or pending settlement. Final approval, claim availability, eligibility, timing, and any payment depend on court approval, administrator instructions, and final settlement terms. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
