Description
Galderma Laboratories LP has agreed to a $990,000 settlement resolving claims that it misled consumers about possible benzene contamination in its Differin branded acne treatment products. The lawsuit alleged certain Differin benzoyl peroxide (BPO) products contained or were at risk of benzene contamination. U.S. consumers who purchased Differin Daily Deep Cleanser (5% BPO), Differin Acne Spot Treatment (10% BPO), or Differin Maximum Strength Acne Foaming Cleanser (10% BPO) between January 1, 2020 and February 19, 2026 may be eligible for $9.00 per product. No proof of purchase is required for up to 3 products ($27 max). Claims with proof of purchase have no product limit. One claim per household. Claims must be submitted by May 19, 2026. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.

- Purchased Differin Daily Deep Cleanser (5% BPO), Differin Acne Spot Treatment (10% BPO), or Differin Maximum Strength Acne Foaming Cleanser (10% BPO) in the United States between January 1, 2020 and February 19, 2026
- No proof of purchase required for up to 3 products — one claim per household
- Claims must be submitted by May 19, 2026
