Hubbard v. Google – YouTube Privacy Settlement
Potential cash payment for alleged YouTube data collection from children.
Description
Google LLC and YouTube LLC agreed to a $30,000,000 settlement resolving claims that they collected personal data from children under 13 who watched child-directed content on YouTube without parental consent. U.S. residents who were under 13 between July 1, 2013 and April 1, 2020 and watched child-directed YouTube content may be eligible for a pro rata cash payment from the fund (exact amount depends on the number of valid claims). The claim deadline is January 21, 2026. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
Who qualifies
- U.S. resident
- Under 13 at the time and watched child-directed content on YouTube between 2013-07-01 and 2020-04-01
- If claimant is a minor, a parent or legal guardian must submit and sign the claim form
- One claim per Settlement Class Member
