Description
The New England Patriots agreed to pay $2.16 million to settle allegations that their mobile app shared users' video-viewing data with third parties, violating the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA). U.S. residents who used the Patriots app with location services enabled and watched any prerecorded or on-demand videos between Feb. 1 2022 and May 30 2025 can submit a claim for an equal share of the net settlement fund. No proof of purchase is required; payments will be distributed pro rata after court approval. Eligibility, claim review, payment timing, and any payment amount are determined by the settlement administrator, court-approved terms, or applicable refund program. Payout does not administer the settlement, determine eligibility, or guarantee payment.
